Absolutely first class. Janet altered my 1920s wedding dress, made it longer and added some bling. The result was outstanding, I sparkled all day long and the number of comments of admiration from guests, well I lost count. A total success and Janet made me look like a lady from Downton Abbey. Janet was really great with the alterations to my wedding dress and the 3 bridesmaid dresses. Nothing was too much work for her. Unfortunately when I was about to put the dress on for my wedding day I noticed one part of the front of the dress had been pinned and not tacked. I expect this was just overlooked and had there been more time I'm sure Janet would have fixed this. Overall Janet did an amazing job.

As a mature cross-dresser I had been looking for a confidential and discreet dressmaker to alter some dresses and skirts as I am lacking in the hip department. Having rung a few, I plumped for Janet Holden as she came over as professional and free from prejudice. We arranged for me to visit Janet at her studio where we talked through what was required and what could be done. Then, I put on the garments so they could be pinned. Janet was friendly and chatty throughout my appointment, without being intrusive, and made me feel so at ease in her company. As for the alterations, they are fabulous; dresses & skirt fit like a dream and look and hang so differently when on. If you are looking for confidentiality, discretion and a competitively priced professional service, look no further. Janet ticks all the boxes and is a lovely woman as well.
